My new theatre production for audiences of all ages, Keng Méck, kee Schockela?, explores the lives of insects and their history on our beautiful planet.

Generally, when humans take an interest in these little creatures, it is because they are pretty, like ladybirds and butterflies, or because we consider them useful, like honeybees because they produce delicious honey. Others, like spiders, trigger completely irrational fears… First of all, spiders are not insects. But what exactly is an insect? What defines one? How long have insects been around? How do they live? What do they eat? Do they eat chocolate? And how does chocolate grow?

Keng Méck, kee Schockela? explores chocolate and the lives of insects we know very little about: those that disgust us, such as cockroaches, and those we fear or consider invasive, intrusive or even harmful, such as wasps and flies…

It is a surprising and humorous docu-fiction that gives these little creatures the attention they deserve.
